This is a sweet cornbread recipe, for those who prefer the taste of sweet, warm, melt in your mouth honey buttermilk cornbread! This recipe is a hit for any family event, and will have family members coming back for more!

Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lightly grease a 9-inch cast iron skillet or square pan with butter and place into the oven to heat up. (Allow the butter to cool slightly before adding to the batter.)

-In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together- flour, cornmeal, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Add buttermilk, honey and eggs. Mix together. Add melted butter, slightly cooled. Continue to mix until all ingredients are combined. Be careful not to over mix batter.

Remove warmed cast iron skillet or pan from the oven. Pour the cornbread batter into the warmed skillet.

Place cornbread into oven. Bake for 20-23 minutes or until the cornbread begins to brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool.
